MISSION & VISION

Educate, inspire, change

Everyone, regardless of background, prior knowledge or capacity should have access to the art

LEARNING AT WANÅS KONST

Wanås Konst reaches over 9,000 children and young people every year. We work with Creative School (Skapande Skola funded by the Swedish Arts Council) and different special projects. 2013–2014 the Wanås Konst project X-LARGE focuses on creating accessibility for people with disabilities as well as making culture accessible for everyone regardless of prior knowledge. The focus is on how children and young people encounter art. The accessibility program is being developed in collaboration with its target groups.

All activities at Wanås Konst are centered on contemporary art. Every season new guided tours and workshops are developed taking the current exhibitions as their starting points. The outdoor-environment at Wanås offers a playful way of learning. The activities foster familiarity with art and culture, the art and the creativity inspire and shape ambitions and abilities of participating children and young people.

Wanås Konst forms part of Skånes Konstpedagogiska nätverk and takes part in Bästa Biennalen in Skåne, a biennial of art with a focus on children, young people and adults.
